With a collection of accolades for outstanding performance over the past two years including the Number 1 Medium Office at the REIWA Awards 2021 there must be something in the water at Realmark Coastal.

Director Sean Hughes earlier this year was appointed the Number 2 Agent in the REB Top 50 Performing Agents in Western Australia highlighting his excellent performance.

Leading by example Mr Hughes said “we had a lot of agents in the team hit their personal best in 2020 with listing and selling performance by the agents growing month on month, as well as GCI month on month. The team atmosphere is at an all-time high through a combination of strategies focusing on health, performance and attracting the best talent in the state.”

Realmark Coastal believe one part of their success is ingraining health and wellness into their business encouraging staff to create a new set of health and fitness goals focusing on mind, movement, nourishment, self-care, sleep, work and time management. Teaming up with leading health and wellness businesses, Realmark Coastal encourage their team to grow together as a team and support each other achieve their best, professionally and personally, by deeply caring both as individuals and as a team.

“Managing burnout in our industry is a constant battle. Every agent in WA has been running at full steam for the past 18 months with a challenging and unpredictable market. The demand for listings is one of the biggest challenges agents face and each agent is always on 24/7 striving for the best outcomes for their clients, so its important to manage burnout and prevent it through social activities, eating healthy and team health challenges” said Mr Hughes.
This methodology has proven attractive to recent appointments Shane Beaumont, Shahbaj Brar, Julie Cross, Jamie Wood and Amy Audus who all joined the team this year.

“We have elite operators who don’t need to know how to list or sell. At Realmark Coastal we want to work on the team to be the best versions of themselves in everything they do. It is important to centre health priorities and improve the wellbeing of the team as it directly leads to enhanced performance for our agents” explained Mr Hughes.

Demand in the market has never been greater, with a revised vacancy rate of <1% in data released by REIWA confirming that owning a home has never been more important. The way we use our homes has changed in society and we are now spending more time at home than ever before. This Impact has continued to drive the high demand for limited rental and sales stock in Western Australia; in particular in sought-after lifestyle locations where Realmark Coastal operates.

“We have seen a change in consumer behavior with clients wanting to pay more to accommodate their needs such as a home office or a space to teach the kids, proximity to the coast and investing more money in a home. The demand for housing is driven by emotion so people are willing to put their best foot forward to get the home they want for their family. This requires an agent to go above and beyond to get the best result for their client, so being in their best shape mentally is key to a successful outcome” said Mr Hughes.
