Realmark Rookie takes out the top spot.

Realmark star performer Ryan Smith stole the show at the REIWA.COM awards last weekend taking out the Number 1 position for Top WA Listing Rookie of the Year.

This follows his Realmark Rising Star Award he won from a field of very strong young achievers in the Realmark network last month.

In his first year of real estate, Ryan managed to list more than 30 properties and sell an incredible 27 within the financial year despite starting late in August putting him behind the pack.

Ryan said he had no idea what to expect from his first year in real estate but he had worked hard to achieve the sales.

“I have done a lot of learning on the job and the biggest thing for me, not having an initial client base, was to use my experience in digital marketing to build a profile on social media and increase my network, it was the biggest key for me in getting results,” he said.

“I was initially able to use Realmarks winning formula of practices, procedures, branding and the sales success to create interest and it all flowed from there.”

Ryan is used to working at an elite level having played both State-level AFL football and golf. He also comes from a strong sporting family with both his father, Wayne Smith, and sister, Kristie Smith, professional golfers.

This strong work ethic on the sports field has translated into great energy and passion for property and performing at a top-level for all of his clients.

In his first few weeks of working in real estate, he had a sales coup managing to put a home in Victoria Park under offer in just two days which had previously been on the market for 130 days with another agent.

“They gave me a shot and I sold it within 30 hours, for a 30-day cash offer,” Ryan said.

Ryan has always been driven, he completed his real estate course shortly after high school but couldn’t juggle the demands of State-level training sessions with the weekend life of an agent and found businesses to drive his energy towards in the meantime.

His love of fitness drove him to personal training, opening two Stadium Fitness 24-hour access gyms; then into a digital marketing agency Hybrid Revenues that specialises in hospitality, real estate and entertainment;’ and became an investor in a Cambodian restaurant chain.
And if that’s not enough he also studied Counter Terrorism Security and Intelligence at University.

Ryan says he chose Realmark to work for because of their strong branding and innovation.

So where to from here? Ryan is going from strength to strength experiencing his biggest week to date selling four properties last week and hired his first team member Catrina.

His personal goal for the next financial year was to keep expanding, build on his network and double his Gross Commission Income to half a million.

“The thing for me is I have always enjoyed working and once I have committed to something I become obsessed with it. I like to learn any way I can to get the results and so I watch a lot of YouTube, vlogs, TV shows and I read a lot of books about selling and the psychology of selling to keep upping my game. I work stupid hours and don’t sleep a lot but the thing about real estate is it is one of those industries that if you work hard, it pays off.”
