The ‘Great Australian Dream’ might still be to own your own home, but we think we can all dream a little bigger this Christmas. Maybe even dream a little further away. We have pulled together some our best advice on lifestyle properties in the sunny and stunning destination of Broome.
With the beautiful mix of red dirt, cool blue waters and lush greenery, this place is perfect to call home for an extended break or two. We sat down with Tammy Sutcliffe, Licensee and Director of Realmark Broome, to talk everything holiday homes in WA's north.

Tammy explained that Broome is ready and waiting for new holiday home buyers, “currently the market in Broome is terrific, with all types of properties available for those wanting to make a sea change”. If you are into camping, boating, fishing, arts, eating out, and afternoon sundowners at the beach, then Broome is the place to be. With a list like that, there is truly something for everyone in this eccentric town. Broome is very much the gateway to the Kimberley region, with many sights and landmarks all within reach. Outstanding wonders such as the Gibb River Road and dozens of gorges are all only a few hours drive away. Broome being only a 2 hour and 20-minute flight from Perth makes it even easier to access the one-of-a-kind coastal town.

Buying a holiday home can be a different journey entirely to buying your forever home. What you are looking for and where you want to be are usually entirely different from where you want to live full-time. After all, your holiday home is meant to provide you an escape from the everyday. We asked Tammy what her biggest piece of advice for people considering a holiday home would be. She explained that buying a property with “security and low maintenance, for that lock-up-and-leave lifestyle” is key to enjoying it. She also went on to say, “people should consider location in relation to night life”.

We all know Broome as the picturesque, laid-back coastal town in the North. So what are the best areas to potentially buy in? When we asked Tammy of her favourite area, she said Cable Beach still can’t be beaten, “there are lovely tracks over the dunes, a quick walk to beautiful Cable Beach, which is never crowded and always peaceful”.
