Leederville’s Electric Lane Enters Final Phase

Powell's Fromagerie & Wine Bar has now selected the laneway as a unique F&B destination with a launch date to be confirmed.

Powell's will be Leederville’s first licensed fromagerie & wine bar offering a small gourmet cheese selection and sandwich eatery by day, turning into a cosy wine bar with share comestibles by night.

Powell's will share the laneway with coffee hotspot, Abacus Espresso, Japanese Omakase Restaurant & Take Away, Mediterranean dining spot, Servo and renowned hair studio, Eesome.

Leading the way on this venture, Realmark Commercial Retail Sales and Leasing Director Michael Richardson explains securing the final tenancy has made all the hard work pay off.

“Electric Lane has a rich history in Leederville, and it was our mission to bring the area back to life,” Mr Richardson said.

“I have witnessed the laneway transform from a construction site to an inviting and invigorating space, which welcomes all sorts of people.

“Whether you want a coffee in the morning, a hearty meal for lunch or a relaxing evening drink over dinner, Leederville’s Electric Lane has all of that on offer, plus so much more,” he said.

Connecting the recently completed ABN Building and intertwining with the Leederville Hotel, Electric Lane connects at the heart of Leederville with entry points from Vincent Street, Oxford Street and Newcastle Street.

Understanding the breadth of work involved in the precinct revitalisation, particularly over the challenging past few years, Mr Richardson believes the tide has turned for Perth’s retail market.

“More retailers are opening new stores and returning to the suburbs - not just in Leederville - but across suburban areas throughout Perth, as there is a positive sentiment in the market,” Mr Richardson said.

“The laneway and hotel development, along with over 750 ABN staff who have moved into the ABN building is stimulating foot traffic to the area and supporting retail and hospitality in and around the precinct.”

Reiterating Mr Richardson’s sentiment, Realmark Commercial Sales and Leasing Consultant, Fletcher Wolpers understands the importance of the laneway and the new life it is expected to bring to the area.

“It’s great to see people out and about again, as the people of Perth love to try new and different places to have a drink and get a bite to eat,” he said.

But the addition of getting behind outstanding local operators as seen in Electric Lane brings a more personal charm to their dining experience.

“Our vision was to attract retailers who best fit the vision of the laneway and who could generate a new buzz to the area, and we are proud to think that we have achieved that.”
